How it works.

1 / 3

Reconstitute

Add bacteriostatic water to the lyophilized peptide. The volume you add determines your concentration.

2 / 3

Find concentration

Concentration = peptide strength ÷ water added. This tells you how many mg live in each mL.

3 / 3

Draw your dose

Injection volume = desired dose ÷ concentration. On a U-100 syringe, every 0.01 mL is one unit.

How much bacteriostatic water to add.

Reconstitution is one division: the vial strength divided by the volume of bacteriostatic water you add gives the concentration in mg per mL. The water volume does not change how much peptide is in the vial — it only changes how many units you draw for a given dose. Larger volumes make small doses easier to measure accurately.

How to reconstitute a peptide vial, step by step

  1. 1Let the lyophilized vial and the bacteriostatic water reach room temperature before opening anything.
  2. 2Wipe both rubber stoppers with an alcohol swab and let them dry.
  3. 3Draw your chosen volume of bacteriostatic water into a syringe — this is the number you decided in the table above.
  4. 4Angle the needle so the water runs down the inside glass wall of the vial. Never squirt it directly onto the powder.
  5. 5Swirl gently until the solution is clear. Do not shake: agitation can damage the peptide.
  6. 6Label the vial with the concentration and the date you mixed it.
  7. 7Store the reconstituted vial at 2–8°C and draw each dose with a fresh sterile syringe.
