Units refer to a U-100 insulin syringe, where 100 units equals 1mL. More water does not change the total milligrams in the vial — it only changes how many units make up a given amount, which is why larger volumes are easier to measure accurately.

Step by step

  1. 1Let the vial reach room temperature and wipe both rubber stoppers with an alcohol swab.
  2. 2Draw your chosen volume of bacteriostatic water into the transfer syringe.
  3. 3Angle the needle so the water runs down the inside glass wall — never spray it directly onto the powder cake.
  4. 4Let the vacuum pull the water in, then remove the needle without injecting air.
  5. 5Roll the vial gently between your fingers until the solution is clear. Do not shake it.
  6. 6Label the vial with the date, the water volume used, and the resulting concentration.
  7. 7Refrigerate at 2–8°C immediately after reconstitution.

Peptides are shear-sensitive. Shaking, vortexing, or forcing water straight onto the cake can denature the material and is the most common cause of a failed reconstitution.

Common mistakes

  • Using sterile water instead of bacteriostatic water — sterile water has no preservative and is single-use.
  • Shaking the vial to dissolve the cake faster.
  • Not labelling the concentration, which makes every later measurement guesswork.
  • Leaving the reconstituted vial at room temperature between sessions.
  • Reading units off a non-U-100 syringe.

Frequently asked questions

How much bacteriostatic water for a 10mg CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin vial?

2mL or 3mL are the most practical. 2mL gives 5,000mcg/mL and 3mL gives about 3,333mcg/mL; larger volumes make small measurements easier to read on a U-100 syringe.

Can I use sterile water instead?

Sterile water has no preservative, so the vial must be used immediately and cannot be stored. Bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol and allows multi-use storage.

How long does the reconstituted blend last?

Refrigerated at 2–8°C, roughly 21–28 days. Do not freeze a reconstituted vial.

Should the solution be clear?

Yes. A properly reconstituted CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin solution is clear and colourless. Cloudiness, particulates, or a residual undissolved cake means something went wrong.
